For good refresher course on Ancient History and civilization, you should go to Youtube's Lauren McKnight's channel and look up (for starters) "Secrets of the Aegean Civilization". Also look up out the video based on the unexplained destruction ("dark age") of the Aegean civilization. The Minoan culture was a fantastic advanced and peaceful culture. If you see pictures of the art alone, you wonder what we lost. I could care less about modern technology, MODERN cell phones, Nascar, NFL, and TV. Young people have no appreciation for good culture or peaceful civilizations. Most young people cannot even read and do not study history. Of course, about half of all young people are illegal mexican and central american aliens. The rest are from the ghetto and are basketball fanatics and gang members.
Modern civilization is no longer working. It is obsessed with entertainment and consumerism and sports. No morality, no interest in Spirituality. No interest in Jesus, God, Christianity ....Even the Pagans in America are losing interest in their "faith". Its all about Atheism, Gay Agenda culture, or Sports or "loving and trusting your government" (translation: STATISM).
It makes me sick. No wonder the Native Americans in this country feared and hated the "white man" and his culture. THEY KNEW WHAT HE WOULD DO WITH THE LAND and the Spirit of this world. We killed one of the voices that would have warned us about becoming too technologically dependent, too greedy and obsessed with money and power and cities. They would have warned us that any culture that gets too far away from Nature and the land, loses the ability to think clearly and use common sense. When it is too easy for us to survive, we become less human.
